What makes us want to do the things we do? Why are we always looking for more than what God has already given us? This is a question that many of us ask ourselves. In this article, I’m going to explore the reasons why Jesus came and died on the cross for our sins.

The answer to this question is found in the Bible. In John, Jesus famously said: “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and they know me – just as the Father knows me and I know him-and I lay down my life for the sheep” (John chapter ten verse fourteen). He gives up his spiritual existence so that we can have eternal life with Him. God, who created us out of love wants nothing more than our happiness which he will only give if we choose it over sin.

In all honesty, a lot of what makes people want things are not always great reasons but rather superficial ones such as beauty or fame. But given these desires, why would someone like Christ need to die ?

This answer is found in the Gospel of John when Jesus said: “the truth will set you free.” This means that if we choose to follow him, he will take away our sins and give us a new life without sin because He has already been punished for them. Christ came down into this world so that his death would be enough to cleanse what was wrong with it – humanity’s separation from God- which is why His resurrection on Easter morning was such an important event.
